World Animal Day
It's World Animal Day today and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the relationship we have with our beautiful animals all over the world.
This fantastic organisation also supports decent conditions for all animals to live in.
Check out the World Animal Day website at www.worldanimalday.org.uk/
My hens are enjoying a sunny coop today but yesterday when it rained constantly, I went out and bought two very cheap shower curtains to cover the exposed areas. It rained so hard that the roof had started to leak and they looked very miserable, but after a while they were soon snuggling down in the straw and enjoying some boiled rice!
Whether you keep animals or not, it's great day to think about all the wonderful and amazing animals that share our planet.

Happy World Animal Day, Di! We celebrated by handing over our collection of scraps to our farmer son - no not for him! he has some new piggies... Hugs..
ReplyDeleteHow lovely Carole, I bet they are enjoying those scraps, bless their little hearts!
ReplyDeleteIf only I had acres of land, I would have so many animals roaming around, including some pigs!
xx
Hi Diane,
ReplyDeleteA beautiful sentiment and, of course, I totally agree it's a great day to think about and appreciate all the wonders of the animal kingdom.
Have a lovely week.
Kind wishes, Gary x
Hurrah for World Animal Day, Di! Because let's face it, they are a darn sight more agreeble than human beings sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI've never thought of using shower curtains as outdoor shelters - what a fab idea. My three girls are all moulting at the moments, and what with the incessant rain, the grounds of Cluckinghen Palace are a sorry mess of feathers and mud.
A large chicken gazebo is called for, I think.
All the best
Denise
Hello Gary
ReplyDeleteYes, our animals are so special, I love to hear about your lovely little Penny who looks like a very much loved friend.
Hope you are getting on alright after your previous posts
Best wishes
Di
Hi Denise
ReplyDeleteOh yes the shower curtains are brilliant - I got them from Wilkinsons (£3) It made an instant difference as it was leaking through the arc and because I bought white ones it is still nice and light for them. But I suppose you could be quite creative as I guess Mrs Pumphrey would not approve of anything too cheap and nasty!
Best wishes to you all
Di x
For some of us - without animals, we wouldn't be published :-)
ReplyDeleteOh you are so right Simon, I have a lot to thank my little chucks for!
