Blodwyn seemed very proud of what looked like an old chamber pot
Over the years they have found quite a lot of stuff, none of it is treasure, but it's interesting to see what they discover. I often find bits and pieces when digging my veggie patch, part of my garden was an old railway which backed onto the quarry workers cottages, so as with many households of the nineteenth century, the rubbish was thrown into the garden and left for little hens to find years later! This is a small collection of their 'finds'
Tee hee! I love the dinosaur skeleton, Di!!

Well done Di. A very fascinating interesting blog.
ReplyDeleteSteve suggests you get forensic scientists in to see what date these go back to.
Best of luck with your writing venture and your hens.

I was fascinated, Di. Those finds relate to the period of history in my next children's book. I was especially interested in the bottle and the handle from an iron kitchen pot that must have hung over the fire in a range. Tell them to keep digging! Hugs....Carole.
ReplyDeleteHi Julie, Yes I had such fun doing this one, but it was all down to the girls for finding their treasure in the first place!
ReplyDeleteHi Fee
ReplyDeleteI wish I could get the real Time Team in to dig a few trenches! My girls would be a great help.

Hi Carole
ReplyDeleteYes, they have found lots of bottles similar to the one in the blog and lots of Iron bits and pieces. It is fascinating what is burried in just a few feet of earth below us. I hope one day they may find a medieval coin!

What a collection! I found something similar inside the grounds of Cluckinghen Palace after my girls had a Greek-themed Ouzo and Feta Party (vine leaves optional).
ReplyDeleteThey never clear up after themselves, do they??
Hello Denise
ReplyDeleteYour girls sound like real party animals! Mine are getting a little tipsy on the windfall apples and pears at the moment but the Ouzo and Feta party sounds like even more fun!
Best wishes
